Chelsea Flower Show 2012

Two years ago I got my own garden. I have walked around welcoming every new plant growing into the sunlight. It has been a treasure hunt -what have previous owners planted. What is left of the natural environment from the forest that owned this spot before the garden was made.

Now time has come to make the garden my own. So I went to Chelsea Flower Show in London for inspiration.

A yellow motorbike, maybe Japanese tranquility or a cobweb made of ropes...

Sooo many people had come for inspiration, we could hardly see the gardens!

You could buy London in stone and a girl on a swing.

I didn't take the chance with security control at the airport ;-)
So I decided to plant Iris, Clematis and Columbines (akeleier) in my garden.

It's a start, now I wait for blue sky and sun!

Feelin' lucky..

Sometimes you travel far to taste the flavours you miss. Or discover new ones.

Sometimes you are just plain lucky.

With your new local store.

So today I've had dolma and pickles. Green tea with ginger -all natural. One with pomegranate is waiting for me tomorrow.

Yummy!

Scandinavian Nesting

Nesting is mostly used about preparing for a new familymember. But Scandinavians are known to be nesting their whole life. Long periods of the year are dark and cold, so we love our homes. The main inspiration is from nature.

Scandinavians also travel a lot, we always have. So we mix local and foreign. Old and new.

Nest & Travel it is typically Scandinavian.

Nest & Travel

Nest & Travel
This is my blog about travels ...
Istanbul, Marrakech  or who knows where I'm going next...

It is about my work as a journalist.

And last, but not least -nesting. The joy of a good fleemarket and the wonders in my garden -often joined by a cup of tea.

I hope you will enjoy it -and if I write in Norwegian and you don't read Norwegian, there's always http://translate.google.com/# ;-)

                   Welcome!
